eDiets Day 2

I made it through my first dinner that was from the ediets menu.  I went with the same dish that was suggested for my girlfriend (grilled chicken breast, snap peas, and rice), but had a slightly larger portion.  The meal suggestion was actually really good.  In preparation for our dinner and the next couple of weeks, my girlfriend and I went grocery shopping using the ediets grocery list.  I work in finance, so I watch my spending very closely and was a little worried that the suggestions might make my grocery bill much higher.  We compromised a little on a couple flavor adding ingredients such as white wine, but we really didn't spend much more than normal.  The fact that I am motivated to eat the diet I plan to eat also keeps me from random stops at restaurants after a long day at the office.  It would not surprise me if I end up saving money for this very reason.Today I felt really good about my progress already.  When I went to the gym to weigh in, I was already down 1-1.5 pounds.  Some of the weight loss could be that I just drank a little less water, but it's the fact that my lifestyle is changing and I feel good that matters.  One thing that I noticed when looking at my plan was that I was actually eating too little for breakfast and lunch (just Slim Fast or a protein shake) and then getting very hungry, tired, and cranky at the end of the day.

Today, I brought a couple of bananas to work with me to eat in between breakfast and lunch and then at the end of the day as I hit my final stretch of work and get the most hungry.  Bananas are high in nutritional value and are supposed to have enough energy to support a 90 minute workout.  Hopefully, this will allow me to balance my calories earlier in the day, eat less for dinner, and keep my metabolism running all day while feeling better along the way.  Check with me tomorrow to see if this plan is working or not.
