Day 6- Sugar detox doesn't work if you eat sugar!

This weekend was not good for my diet. Not only did I fall off the wagon, but the wagon also ran over me, backed up, and ran over me a second time. I ate out with friends Friday night and ordered every fried sea creature you could imagine along with French Fries. I hadn’t gone to the grocery store to purchase ingredients for my Sonoma Diet suggested dinners so I caved and decided eating out was simply easier. This was followed with pizza and ice cream for Saturday lunch. The good news is that I have stuck to my one Dr. Pepper per day rule. I even exercised on Sunday.
For anybody starting this diet, I’d suggest taking time in the beginning to really understand what the Sonoma Diet entails food-wise and to start shopping beforehand. I feel like I jumped into this without fully understanding it so everyday is playing catch-up. I am watching portion sizes (minus last Friday), but am blindly substituting Sonoma Diet dinners for what appears in my pantry.
I feel like I’m not where I should be because I do my own thing for dinners and due to my processed food/high sugar diet this weekend. This is supposed to be my 10-day period of sugar detox, and I really blew it on Day 3. For me, it’s difficult to follow the dinner suggestions since my old favorite foods are conveniently in my pantry when I get home from work. My daily Sonoma Diet email suggested throwing out these distracting foods, but I cannot justify wasting perfectly fine foods. I’m also concerned about a possible increase in my grocery bills if I strictly follow this new diet. Perhaps I’m merely attempting a rationalization of my poor commitment.

I haven’t weighed myself yet but plan on purchasing a scale tonight. I think my weekend debauchery undid any progress I made last week. We shall see later tonight.
