Day 8- Slowly shrinking

One of the things I like about the Sonoma Diet Program is the daily email I receive. The emails are informative, short, and provide my suggested daily meal plan. It’s like a quick encouragement to continue on towards my goal.
Though I still haven’t purchased a scale, I have noticed that my belly is not as “poochy.” It’s starting to thin out somewhat. This really is encouraging. I know I had poor eating habits. For me, it has been difficult to give up my favorite foods for healthier ones when there wasn’t an immediate payoff. My favorite foods provided instant gratification when they hit my tongue. I admit, the Sonoma Diet meals have been very tasty, but I think I was addicted to my two favorite meals (Mac & Cheese and Tomato Soup). I’m slowly breaking away from these but it’s hard to give up something I have eaten multiple times each week for the past few years.

Another plus is that I used to eat the entire box of Macaroni and not feel full. Last night, I had Macaroni again, but felt very full when I was only halfway done. I think I’m slowly shrinking my stomach. This has resulted from my conscious attempt at smaller portion sizes.

Even though I haven’t gone cold turkey with my sugar intake as the Sonoma Diet suggests, I have consciously reduced it greatly. I’m conscious of not snacking on sweets, even in small quantities. I used to have a jar of chocolate candy on my desk, but I have chosen not to refill it. As the diet suggests, it’s easier to eliminate sweets if the food is not right there in front of you tempting you. Still one Dr. Pepper per day.

Breakfast: 2 eggs, Dr. Pepper
