Day 14- One fruit at a time

I enjoy that I can eat fruit in Wave 2 of my Sonoma Diet.  Since I’m consciously reducing my sugar intake, fruits are a delicious and healthy substitute.  Even though I haven’t been as dedicated to this diet as I should be, I have noticed that I have lost a little bit of weight.  Considering how I tend to fall off the wagon on weekends, this is actually encouraging.  Also consider that I have been stressed at work and not exercising.  I’m somewhat surprised I actually have lost weight.  I am proud of myself for sticking to my goal of one Dr. Pepper per day.  This may have been the biggest challenge for me.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that my taste for processed foods is slowly going away.  This will take some time, but I’m trying to eat at least one fruit each day to help this along.  I worry somewhat about my life without my red macaroni box, but I know I will be healthier and feel better.  I’m not the type who can make a major life change (ie: completely give up sugar or start a new exercise routine) and stick with it.  I’m better with small amounts of change over time.  The Sonoma Diet, even my personalized version, is helpful with this.  I can select meals that are appealing to me and appropriate for my cooking skills.  I do enjoy the options I have with this diet.
