Day 36: Sweet Tooth

I again proved that being very busy makes me forget to eat.  I do have my water bottle with me so I am drinking water while working, but I realized it was about 2pm and I still had not had lunch.  Today I had my first Dr. Pepper in three days.  That is huge for me!  My new personal goal is to get down to 1-2 Dr. Peppers per week.  In place of my daily caffine fix, I have been drinking a lot more water.  I feel healthier and eat smaller portions since the water fills me up.

My birthday was this week which resulted in 4 birthday cakes.  One from my parents, two from work, and another at my “friends party.”  I only had small pieces and did not even finish those.  All the cakes were delicious, but my sugar cravings have declined.  The sweets taste good, but not as satisfying as they used to be.  It used to be that I would see this bag and have the following internal monologue: “Ooooh, kisses!  No, bad for you.  Sugar, fat.  But it’s Kisses!  Buy it.  You’ll just eat a few.”  Needless to say, this didn’t turn out well.  Now, I can look at a bag of Hershey Kisses and think “Hersey Kisses.  Hmm, I think I’m almost out of oranges.  I should buy some.”  Progress.
