Day 61: Consciously Preventing Setbacks

I’m leaving for another business trip today to New York City which meant staying up very late last night packing.  My healthier eating habits are becoming more commonplace.  Around 2:00am, I had serious munchies.  Instead of making something or snacking on what was readily accessible in the pantry, I went for a big glass of water.  This actually satisfied my craving again proving that those feelings might be thirst cravings instead of hunger munchies.

I also had my final bellydancing class this weekend and walked a few miles with my husband last night.  It felt very good to be active.  Well, it felt very good later.  I’m still not to the point that I enjoy exercising duirng the actual event.  I keep going because I know it’s good for me.  To my surprise and enjoyment, he actually asked if I had lost weight.  I laughed explaining my previous business dinners of overindulging in five course meals, but he insisted that I was slimmer.  That comment gave me an extra boost of determination to keep progressing towards my goal despite any setbacks.  Even though the next few days hold lots of eating and drinking with business meetings in between, I will be more active to watch my portion sizes and choose healthier options.
