Day 89: Floatin the River
We had our annual float trip this weekend which meant no sleep, little exercise, and a lot of eating out. For all you non-Texans, “floatin the river” means driving a few hours down I-35 to the Comal River (or the Guadalupe) in New Braunsfels near San Antonio, sitting in an inner tube, relaxing/drinking/burning, and floating for a few hours. At the end, you get out, walk up the stairs, and a bus takes you back to the beginning to do it all over again. Since we went on a Saturday in July, it was packed. Very fun times had by all, but basically all I did Saturday was sit in a tube & get a little burned.
As usual, we stopped at our favorite mexican restaurant in Waco twice this weekend- once heading down and also on the way back. I had queso with extra pico de gallo each time. I have resigned myself to the fact that whenever I’m back in my college town, I will always go to this place and order their queso. This is not in line with my diet, but I always look forward to eating there. I only get to make it back a few times each year so I can allow myself to splurge then.
