Dat 111: Restaurant Week

It is Restaurant Week here in Dallas.  This is where most of the four and five star restaurants create a fabulous menu (appetizer, entree, dessert) for a fixed price and most of this cost is donated to the local food bank.  This is a great way to check out new restaurants for a reduced rate and for a good cause.  Reservations usually fill up one month in advance.  We were lucky to get a few for this week.  Last night, we ate at a fabulous Steak/Seafood restaurant.  I admit that since this was not a regular dining out, I felt no guilt about what I ordered.

I started with lobster bisque and shared a house salad with my husband.  For my entree, I had grilled salmon topped prawns in a yummy sauce.  It was served with cream style corn, snap peas, and small potatoes.  It was absolutely delicious.  For dessert, we had this chocolate mousse topped with whipped cream served in a martini glass.  Wow.  I did not finish my entree nor dessert (my husband finished off dessert for me though) so I did maintain decent Sonoma Diet portion sizes.  That also gave me another meal for this week.  I figure as long as my other meals are reduced calorie/fat then it will even out for this one week.
