Day 155: Bye bye Sonoma Diet?
I have been contemplating finishing the Sonoma Diet and pursuing a new one that is more in line with my lifestyle. I really do not have any time to cook the fabulous meals on the Sonoma Diet. I am also a very bad cook and hate cooking in general. I have not acquired the skill of sitting down and writing out the weekly meals so I can go to the grocery store to purchase all the necessary items. As a result, I feel that I am a horrible example of somebody on this diet. I cannot fault the diet. I have just found that this diet is very difficult for a younger person with an extremely active social life that includes dining out and spontaneous weekend trips. I have learned a great deal and altered my eating habits.
For instance, I have a caffinated soda maybe once every other month. This is amazing for the girl formerly known as Miss Dr. Pepper. I have also really cut back on sugar. I pass on dessert often to the amazement of others. I have also really limited my portion sizes. This may have been the hardest part for me, especially when it comes to my macaroni & cheese. I have to consciously put the bowl down for about 10 min and then re-evaluate if I am still hungry. 99% of the time, I am quite full.
We are off for our cruise tomorrow and then I am out another week for business. I will do some research about a new diet to see if there is one that better fits my lifestyle. Stay tuned….
