DAY 5: Party Night / Graduation
I have been on the Zone Diet for several days and I feel rather good. I feel as if I have a lot of energy. I have slept rather well and felt invigorated at work. I can’t say it is totally attributed to the Zone, but I can say that is how I feel. I am a little discouraged about this weekend, because I am headed to a college graduation. This is an excuse to partake in unlimited consumption of items that are not on this diet and moderation is not preferred. I am going to try and set limits, even though Mexican food is the food of choice of the weekend. I am a sucker for good Mexican food… and beverages.
Ok, today I ate pretty well. I stayed on the diet plan… until dinner.
Breakfast consisted of an egg omelet with ham which I made the night before. I ate an early lunch of a chef salad. It was so large that once again I ate the rest as a snack a couple hours later. I ate half of a ham sandwich on the way to Waco. It was not on the diet, but the diets’ snack suggestions are limited on the go. On arriving in Waco, I failed my diet completely. I went to a Mexican restaurant and had unlimited chip, salsa, margaritas, and fajitas. I am writing this rather late and I actually feel rather guilty for my indulgence. Looking back on the evening, there was no reason to eat so much. I justified it by saying that this is a special weekend and I can afford the enjoyment. I think I will have to reevaluate “enjoyment.”
