DAY 16: DINNER
I feel that dinner is my biggest enemy. I plan my meals throughout the day and stick to them. I have no problem with portion control or wanting to sneak in something from the vending machines. When I leave work, my self control becomes difficult to control. I am not sure why, but I tend to over eat. After over eating I then feel guilty about it.
The worst is when I go out to eat. The portions at the restaurant are not designed with the Zone Diet in mind, or any diet for that matter. The portions at almost any restaurant are two to three times the amount required. Living in Texas definitely makes matters worse, since our creed is that everything is bigger in Texas. This is followed, from vehicles to fast food to sit down meals. I am overcoming an unofficial state motto. Value coupled with marketing has determined that people purchase more and be willing to upgrade, if they believe they are receiving a great value. I am somewhat value oriented, so I fall into this crowd. I like to think I saved money and received a great value.
When I do over eat, I feel miserable. My stomach is full from shrinking it all day and then filling it to the seams at night. I also feel a bit guilty for failing to follow the rules of the diet. This is going to be an ongoing personal improvement. Once again, if anyone has any suggestion for any of my blogs, I would appreciate your responses.
