DAY 29: EASY RECIPES
If you were on a deserted island and you had unlimited raw ingredients, would you eat them as they were or create a tasty dish? I fall in the middle of this spectrum. I enjoy cooking, and using recipes to recreate gourmet meals, however I feel as if the time to prepare a good meal is rarely available. The funny thing about time is that there is always enough time if you make it.
When we prioritize our time we commit our importance to everything in our life. With this in mind, this priority lies in the middle. This reasoning is a contributing factor why I chose the Zone Diet.
The Zone Diet has a number of recipes that are quick to prepare, healthy and taste delicious. Yesterday, I made a ground turkey dish with bell peppers, tomato puree and seasonings. I found it on the community member support link, and it turned out being a quick and tasty dinner. I ate the leftovers for lunch today and was satisfied that I had eaten two good meals for around five dollars. After that success, I decided to try another “easy” meal from the Zone Diet website. Another suggestion on the same link was very similar so I gave it a try. It suggested using different vegetables in the mix. The frozen food section has a large selection of mixed vegetables, which makes this such an interchangeable dish. After trying the dish for the second time I add a twist. I left out the tomatoes, used a different veggie combination and added some spice. I believe I have found my new favorite Zone Diet meal. Fast, easy and healthy sounds great to me.
