Day 31: WEIGH IN DAY

Today I officially weighed in. I am happy to inform that I have cut two and a half pounds off my body. Now it is time to celebrate. I will go out to an all you can eat place and…just kidding. I did go out to eat, however I used the Zone Diet tips and ended up eating somewhat healthy. I went out to a steak restaurant and ate a handful of the filet I ordered, half an order of broccoli, a side Caesar salad, two pieces of shrimp, and two pieces of bread. I still may have still over eaten a bit, but it is a process. Restaurants want you to leave stuffed to your gill, so that you associate that particular restaurant as being a good value and serving adequate to large portions. It is a marketing ploy that has showed tremendous success at the expense of the American people’s inability to control their personal eating habits. I don’t blame the restaurants, since they are a company and they are in business to make money. As long as they conduct business in an ethical manner, I believe it is up its patron to control themselves. I believe we need to stop passing blame and take ownership of our actions. Okay, I am done with my side agenda.

Back to the original story, I have discovered another upside with the Zone Diet. When ever I go out to eat, the portions are usually too large, so I eat the leftovers for my next meal. It actually helps me afford my new diet, since it usually costs more to eat healthy.

I have calculated that if I can lose the same amount of pounds each month, I will reach my target weight in 7 or 8 months. I believe it could be sooner if I really kicked in with a consistent exercise program.
