DAY 45: My Own Zone Creations
It’s Alive! It’s Alive! Well this may not be that exciting, but it is a notch in my belt. I hope ya’ll like the pun. Get it? I am dieting and I said notch and “It’s Alive” to refer to my new creations…it is comical and I am funny no matter what you say. Now I am carrying on a conversation with myself. I don’t think this is a good thing. Okay, back to the reason for this blog. I enjoy salads, and the Zone Diet has a section on the website dedicated to salads. It breaks the salad down into four criteria, including: greens, protein, toppings, and dressing. Each criterion on the website is full of options, that way you can mix and match. You can find the salad that fits your taste. I have created some great salads using this section that fall in line with the Zone Diet. I have also found that salads tend to be the easiest food to align with the Zone Diet when eating out.
Another reason I like this section is because you are making you own salads using only their suggestions. You are the creator and chef. I have experiment with several variations already, and I am having fun. I know have fun making salads sounds weird, and it probably is. This is a way for me to stay involved with the diet, and enjoy it as well. I actually made a different type of salad for dinner tonight that replaces meat with sautéed vegetables. Before you say there has to be protein, I have substituted. I added extra almonds, and shredded cheese. The spices and sautéed vegetables taste better than most meat salads I have eaten. Just another creation from the kitchen.
