DAY 71: FORGIVENESS
I really like the attitude of the Zone Diet. It relies on the fact that the participant wants to change. The desire is there and the Zone Diet provides the information and kick start for the motivation. The participant is not being forced, but coax towards success.
I have stated the above to illustrate that mini failures are accepted on the Zone Diet. I mess up every week. The Zone Diet understands we are all human and will mess up or just take a night off our new eating lifestyle. Instead of penalizing, the Zone Diet comforts and provides help for the next meal.
Today, the freight vendor we use the most brought barbeque for lunch. I did me best to stay in the Zone, but I don’t believe I achieved it. I only took half a roll, three small slices of sausage and one piece of brisket. I should have skipped the sausage but it was great, especially with all the sauce I poured on. I scooped a small portion of potato salad, coleslaw, and baked beans on to my plate and went to town. I know I was more health conscience than my coworkers, but I doubt much of my lunch was in the Zone. For dinner I meant to make it up, but a leftover crab cake, Cheshire cheese, and French bread with rosemary olive oil made me cave. With this utter failure, I will focus on tomorrow as my make up day. Forgiveness is divine.
