DAY 94: HUMMUS? yea or nay?
I like to entertain, and have parties. I have been this way since college. Even in high school, my Mom would always let me have friends over. In high school all you needed was a place to hang out where you were not bugged every second. In college, it started out being a place to go and chill and drink if you wanted. College ended as a place to drink and eat and contemplate serious topics as well as watch college football.
Parties after college have progressed to having great appetizers, a great pad, and beverages to enjoy. Food is the new part of the equation and I am really good at this part. Recently I received an email about appetizers in The Zone Diet, and was a bit disappointed. I expected a little more from the Zoned Diet than hummus and vegetable plate as a catchy appetizer. Hummus is not an easy spread to make, but you can buy it relatively inexpensive from a variety of stores. The dilemma with hummus is that it is not known as a safe food. Most of the people I know are not keen on it, but that is definitely not a broad spectrum. I just expected a safer appetizer in my email box. One that would be more appealing, but have no fear. I have not given up on the Zone Diet yet. They will come through.
