I have taken vitamins off and on my whole life.  I understand the reasoning behind doing so.  Your body needs a certain amount of a variety of vitamins to operate at its potential.  These are technically supposed to be derived from ones daily diet.  That is not usually the case though, especially in the fast food age my generation has grown up in.  I sincerely doubt the extra value meal at any of the fast food chains satisfy any daily allowances except for the fat, sodium, and sugar one needs.  At that point, they most likely over compensate.  Because of our traditionally poor diets we have come to realize that supplemental vitamins are required.  This is fine, except for the fact that there are hundreds of brands out there.  They are all marketing towards us and whether we need their specific product or the ten thousand percent of potassium in that pill, they are going to say we need it.  In most cases, our bodies can only absorb a certain amount of any particular mineral at a time.  That means that the rest is flushed out of our system.
All of this to say, that I have been looking for a vitamin that has a mix of all the correct amounts of my daily intake.  The Zone Diet has this very such product that they call the Micronutrient Support.  I think I am going to try their vitamin supplements out.
